Using the styles found in this resource requires basic knowledge of hyper text markup language (HTML) and the Rich Content Editor (RCE) in Canvas.
For each recommended style, we provide code snippets that can be copied and pasted into any Canvas page in code view. To see the page code, select the HTML editor button. In Figure 1, this button is circled.
Once you've entered the code in the HTML editor, you can select the same button to switch back to the RCE to view what the style looks like.
Use the accessibility checker to review color contrast, table accessibility, image alt text, headings, and links.
Handy Tips When Using the Rich Content Editor
- Restoring a page: You can restore an earlier version of a Canvas page if you made changes you don't like. Read about it on the "How do I view the history of a page in a course?" page.
- Allowed tags: This is a list of the allowed (whitelisted) HTML tags and attributes in Canvas.
