How do I post a video for shared commenting visible to all students in a course?

Updated on

Annoto videos that are published to the Media Gallery or embedded in a Canvas page or discussion are visible to all students in a course.  Instructors can publish and embed videos to their course for shared student commenting using the process linked below.

Embedding a Video in Canvas

Once an Annoto-enabled video is embedded in Canvas, the instructor and students will be able to add comments.  Annoto will display a graphical representation of the comments along the timeline to highlight areas of the video with the most engagement.

Also, when embedding videos, the 1024x576 or 1200x628 player size must be used.  Comments will not be visible when using the 900x506 size.  Embed Settings (including player size) can be selected by clicking the gear icon in the Kaltura Embed Tool.

Videos can be recorded as comments directly in the Annoto window using the Annoto video commenting tool.
