How do I add collaborators to my videos in My Media in Canvas?

Updated on

If you do not have access to a Canvas course or the My Media link is not activated in your course, My Media in Canvas can also be accessed by clicking the Account link in the Global Navigation and selecting the My Media link that is listed in the fly-out window. For more information, visit the How to access My Media in Canvas guide.

2. Click the "Pencil" icon

3. Select the "Collaboration" tab and click the "+Add Collaborators" button

4. Search for collaborator by first and last name or UNID, select permissions and click the "Add" button

To search for a collaborator, type their first and last name or UNID into the search box. The collaborator must have logged into their My Media account at least once prior to searching in order for their name to appear in the database. If not, they can visit the How to access My Media in Canvas guide.

Co-Editor permission allows the collaborator to edit, cut and trim the video they are being added to.

Co-Publisher permission allows the collaborator to publish the video anywhere within Canvas. Editing permissions are not granted with this alone.

Co-Viewer permission allows the collaborator to only view the media and do not have editing or publishing permissions.
