Updated onArticleDLT can provide a classroom technician that will arrive 15 minutes prior to class starting and assist the instructor with setting up classroom equipment, joining a Zoom call, etc. The technician will leave once everything is confirmed to be working correctly and the class is started. What are the Copyright Policies for DLT?

- DLT cannot transfer, duplicate, and/or stream copyrighted works in their entirety.
- Under Fair-Use guidelines, DLT can make available for course work, clips of copyrighted works.

Available Portable A/V Equipment for Checkout
Updated onArticleDigital Learning Technologies offers several services related to the availability and use of portable audio-visual technologies and equipment. Portable A/V Equipment is available for classrooms and events. You may reserve & check out portable A/V equipment. DLT offers a delivery service or we can hold equipment for will-call pick-up at our DLT Service Desk in the Marriott Library Faculty Center, Suite 1705.
Because Digital Learning Technologies is a campus service department, we are restricted to conducting business and services only related to University of Utah teaching, learning, and research. That said, many of our services are completely subsidized for use in academic courses, while other non-course-related activities may have charges associated with them.
A technician can also be scheduled at your request to remain on-site during the entire duration of your class or event. Requires a one-week notice.

Standard A/V Equipment Configurations for Audio/Visual Classrooms (Foundation Levels)
Updated onArticleTo add consistency to the A/V technology installations in the various learning spaces across the University campus, Digital Learning Technologies has compiled a set of standardized configurations depending on the type of presentation demands placed on a classroom, auditorium, seminar room, conference room, or lab. There are five standard foundation room types offered. In addition, a couple of specialty rooms have recently been developed to accommodate recent classroom technology trends.
Suggested Pricing: For each Foundation Level, a general pricing is suggested. These dollar figures are ball-park estimates. After you consult with a Teaching & Learning Technologies engineer, a line-item quote will be supplied.

How do I Connect Laptops in Learning Spaces with Installed A/V Equipment?
Updated onArticleIn order to connect a laptop to the technologies and projection systems installed in DLT classrooms and learning spaces, a VGA or HDMI cable is required. An audio cable is also required to amplify laptop audio when using VGA.
Cables and adapters are available for checkout from the Digital Learning Technologies Service Desk located in the Marriott Library Faculty Center, Suite 1705. They can be checked out for one-time use or for a full semester if needed. Cables can be checked out at no charge for credited course use.
